I remember fondly the time (around 1990) when I had an early prototype
built on my Sun workstation, and the pilot customer in France wanted to
try it out. I simply FTP'ed it over to his desktop workstation.

No NATting, no firewalls, plain-text passwords etc.

Innocent, hassle-free bliss.

Today, I have a hard time figuring out how to hand a file over to a
colleague sitting next to me. Tragicomic, really.
