Luckily Radio Shack had regular sales on their stuff, so I think I got mine for around $400. Yes, it's expensive, but not so much compared to what we used to spend, on stuff that was so much simpler. I paid $500 for my first printer in the fall of 1982, dot matrix that didn't do descenders, could never qualify as even close to near letter quality, and was slow and noisy. But it was about as cheap as I could get back then, and I made good use of it. Nowadays, I'd never spend five hundred dollars for a printer. I can't even bring myself to buy a new computer off the shelf, I'll be getting something that was refurbished. Michael
