Most of the stuff in this thread was from quite a while back.
Not to say I haven't experienced issues.
The last one was support for a Canon printer.
I had an "unsupported" RPM from Canon, but it was 32 bit only.
Could not find the 64 bit anywhere.
Tried to build from source but couldn't find all the mods needed
for my model.
Ended up with the Turboprint pay-for version.
That worked the first time.

OTOH, I've spent many hours trying to get Windows installs going too.
