H. G. Wells, the father of Relativity?

Surprising my self in the peculiar situation, thinking that Einstein was 
far  beyond his time, coming up with such a novel ground shaking theory 
(Relativity), forgetting that H. G. Wells, with his time travel (time 
dilation), etc, came before Relativity and all that.

That Einstein never mentioned others by references at the end of his 
papers, is okay as far there are no any before him implied in his 
derivations.

However, everyone by far read the books of H. G. Wells, including Einstein 
which precede The Electrodynamics of The Moving Bodies.
