For most software it's a different problem, OS is trickier.

I'm sure all-mac shops must have figured out a way to get a local
server setup to deliver yosemite to their macs.

And if apple posted a link and a checksum then I'd start a long
slow download. They give it for free but obfuscate it so I guess
it's security through obscurity. The battle is over at apple and
it seems the engineers/imagineers lost.

They've been wanting this for a long, long time. Seems a long way
off. Network's not reliable nor ubiquitous. The network needs to
become like the roads. There when you need it, infrastructure
not revenue generator. The bandwidth providers are just that
but imagine themselves to be content providers.

They still sell previous OS, I saw snow leopard for sale and another.
Is it just a DL coupon?
