Fine. Different strokes.... I have things like Maple, supermongo, etc
installed on /usr/local. They are binary packages which use pretty
minimal stuff that is going to change. I have mail in /var/spool, and
cron files there and at files, and postfix spool, and fax spool, etc.
You may organize your life differently.
