The amplifier didn't have any capacitors or inductors in the output. 
Wanting only a few milliwatts from a 50-watt amp, I wasn't worried about 
power transfer.

Initially, I added 39-ohm resistors at the headphone jack to bring the 
output impedance down to 33 ohms, a close match to the nominal 32 ohms 
of my phones.  It was an improvement, but the 1.8-ohm adapter  I made 
with 10-watt resistors sounded better.
