Mein erster "richtiger" Rechner, kein PC sondern ein "Torch Tripe X", hatte so viel Hauptspeicher wie kurze Zeit später Server, an denen ich beruflich geabrbeitet habe, Cache und so viel Festplattenspeicher wie diese Server Hauptspeicher. Inzwischen ist das noch mal 'ne Stufe weiter gerutscht. NB Ich hatte mal einen Disput mit einem Spinner (in comp.lang.asm.x86), der darauf bestand, daß es NIEMALS PCs mit Gigabtyes an Hauptspeicher geben würde und NIEMALS CDROM Laufwerke mit mehr als 1facher Schreib-/Lese-Geschwindigkeit (obwohl bei dem letzteren könnte die "1" eine andere, ebenso inzwischen überholte Mehrzahl gewesen sein). Mein DELLPrecision 5510, auf dem ich das hier auf'm Soffa schreibe, hat 32GB Hauptspeicher. Dafür kein CDROM-Laufwerk ;-) Josef
