It trashed Windows. >> And I believed when everybody was saying Ubuntu Live doesn't touch >> Windows. > > If "everybody" says there is no problem but you have a problem what is > the likely conclusion... ;) No! Ubuntu Live will work like 99% of the time. It is like playing Russian Roulette. But why play that game? Use something else that doesn't gamble with Windows. Like BartPE or WinPE which doesn't even touch the Windows drive unless you want it too. >> I was running Windows on a SSD. Every time somebody suggests using Linux Live to look and try to do something on a Windows drive, I just cringe! Even when somebody suggested to Monica to use Ubuntu Live to pull off all of the data before formatting the hard drive, I did as well. Although playing the Russian Roulette game, it had toasted her Windows file system too. >> So yes, Ubuntu Live does touch Windows and *can* render Windows in an >> unusable state. :-( > > Heck, even Windows can render Windows to an unusable state. Lots of people believe there are no secrets with Open Source. As it is there for everybody to see. Unfortunately almost nobody reads the source code. So bugs that has been there for years are still there. -- Bill Alienware M9700 - 1GB - Two Nvidia 7900GS running in SLI mode
