So what drive/partition imaging software would you recommend?

I can't make Ghost2003 work properly with a USB2-connected external hard 
drive - so have to back up my system partition to my data partition on 
the same hard drive - and then copy the Ghost files to the external 
drive later. That means that, in the event of a disaster, I have to have 
a working system to be able to copy the backup back to the data 
partition before I can use it to create a working system! UGH!
