It is pretty easy to come up with reasons not to like it. 

I don't like it.  I find it hard to figure out how to do many things,
and I find myself often disoriented within the application, ending up
at the music store when I'm trying to do something else.

When they disabled the sidebar by default, I found it unusable until I
realized one could reenable the sidebar.  Again, mainly because it was
hard to figure out how to get at what I wanted.

I find backups of iDevices with iTunes very confusing.  I'm never sure
exactly what I'm backing up and what I'm not backing up.  And I don't
know a way to clarify if, for example, my documents in uPad are
getting backed up (I'm sure I could look that one up, but the fact
that I'd have to do that for each app makes this unpleasant).

I could go on in some more detail:  I don't use the store much.  I'm
pretty sure that I've never failed to find something I want if it 
is there, but the way the store is organized seems confuing to me,
especially as a classical music listener.  [That's fine - I prefer to
purchase classical music on media and rip it myself anyhow.]

So I don't like iTunes.  But having said that,  I just don't find it a
problem to use iTunes to the limited extent I need to in order to take
advantage of the capabilities of my iPad or iPhone (I use iTunes more
for my iPhone than my iPad, by far since my usage pattern for my
iPhone includes listening to music and audiobooks on it, but I don't
do this on my iPad).

I use it in a very limited way at this point:

(1) to import audio books from CD and put on my iPhone.
(2) to make smart playlists on my iPhone with said audio books.
(3) to put music on new iDevices.

I can do all these quickly and easily, though to do (1) in a sensible
way I am dependent on

http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=audiobooker

Without those scripts it would be laborious for me to import audio
books from CD in a useful way efficiently.  With the scripts it is
almost effortless.
