The fact the folks doing it seem to think this is worthwhile just goes to show how effective brainwashing can be... any why it is so absolutely crucial for them to be able to inflict it upon defenseless kids lacking the critical analysis skills to recognize the bullshit being fed to them. Frankly, it's child abuse, and cruelty. Given the history of religion, though, it's not surprising it still happens, or that people rejoice in this sort of vileness.
