Gee, one time a closet socket went bad, it was just a socket mounted on
the wall with a cord that plugged into the AC outlet, and a switch.
Having tried another bulb, it was the socket.
So I proceed to cut off the line cord, use it for something else. And I'd
forgotten to unplug it.
I still have the cutters, nice notches in them where they shorted out the
AC line before blowing a fuse. I was lucky, though I guess both side were
hit close enough together that the short happened before there was time
for any of the AC to run through my body.
