Except, why did everyone leave?

Some of us have never left, so it's amusing to see some of these comments. 
I know about that website, but visited it maybe half a dozen times.  The 
fact that so many are now so upset about this change or whatever suggests 
people went where the action was, and left usenet behind.

Only when you figure out why you left usenet will you have a handle on how 
to bring people back.  And don't step on the toes of those of us who never 
left, we are the ones who kept it alive, not the people who left.
