I think that makes good sense.  I think it's also perfectly reasonable
for there to be a dual approach, where there's a website out there (I
actually dislike the name altslashdot because it smells like it will
lead us into legal trouble) with moderation and all that stuff, and in
parallel, an engaged community of us old farts who love(d) Usenet.

I started a new hierarchy - dictator.* - and have gone through the
trouble of getting NSPs to carry it, etc., and it's very hard.  So the
idea of starting a new group means either lots of work and time, or
convincing the Big-8 committee that manages the alt hierarchy to provide
a new group.  That's time, also, and probably some voting.

Meanwhile, comp.misc is just sitting here, unused.  I say we move in.
Or should we go for alt.comp.slashrefugees.  Maybe it's not impossible?
