Irony: Back to the 1970s and early 1980s, before ***APPLE*** convinced the world to switch from dark background and bright letters to dark letters on bright backgrounds, arguinfg it was much better for the eyes etc etc etc. CRT terminals, and even computers that ran DOS, CPM, or Apple II were what is today called "dark mode". So ironic that Apple is not trying to convince people to not listen to Apple's own arguments for bright backgrounds. Dark background may be good when you work in a dark environment as opposed to normal office lighting.
