I've been trying to tell people that for... almost FOREVER!

One reason religion works for a lot of people, is we can't even conceive 
of what evolution could or couldn't do in a few billion years.  We have 
absolutely no sense of a timescale that long.  On the one hand, 
evolution makes sense because it's provable.  On the other hand, how 
many fortuitous events had to happen to create a world as complex as 
ours?  It boggles the mind.  And then... on a THIRD hand... where the 
fuck did all the stuff come from in the first place?

My cat's lucky.  She isn't cursed with pondering all this shit every 
fucking day... she just "is".
