Right. I can nit pick the "don't care" part and point out exceptions, but
overall I agree.

The more their top contenders speak poorly about different ethnic and racial
groups the higher their polling numbers go. You also see a lot of racial
attacks at Tea Party groups and the like. Does NOT mean all conservatives
agree with these, but they do not shut it down. Democrats tend to not accept
such even from their own.

As I noted before, McCain - a conservative - ALSO responded well to one of
his supporters spouting such nonsense and I commend him for that strongly.
So he is a good counter-example in the Republican party.
