(I'm assuming you've done what-ever to have the DNS resolving > set up.) Annoyingly, /etc/resolv.conf is read when inetd starts. So my plan to swap in (from a notionally hidden directory) a unique version of that file each time I dial one or the other ISP doesn't work. I just put 3 entries in resolv.conf: one for each ISP plus a google DNS host. I guess I could kill -HUP inetd each time after the swap. The swap business works for sendmail to reference the right smarthost for the current ISP. > If I can believe Environment Canada, you're probably right around 60 > inches/year. Wet, but not the worst place I've ever heard of ;-) No, not the worst. Makes for badly leached topsoil, spectacular mud time in spring and sometimes difficulty getting the hay made. My very first day in NS, in 1967, I was amazed that everybody was out making hay on Aug. 10. I asked a farmer and he said, "It's the first time we've had the weather to do it." Normally, we make hay in late June, into early or mid July. -- Mike Spencer Nova Scotia, Canada
