And since you appear to limit your work to Windows, I am unlikely to come across it so I don't really have any reason to complain. Unfortunately, there is more and more code being written for Unix systems by people who have no fully grasped the value of making inter-working general-purpose tools. Please don't make it worse by pushing the idea that all named readable objects are seekable (or however it is you choose to determine the size).
