IMAO it's a sad but somewhat inevitable outcome of the Linux mindset: "Our system is better than any, safer than any, harder than any, and _cannot fail_. So are we, and neither can we!" They are, of course, wrong. But many of them do display that attitude. Say what you will about Windows programmers, but at least most of them are aware that "Windoze sux". What Linux programmers are unwilling to admit is that, though there are certainly differences in degree, All Hardware Sucks, All Software Sucks. No exceptions. That Windoze sux harder than some doesn't mean Linux' over-committed arse doesn't suck chunks as well. But you try and get a GNUhead to face that truth... Richard
