Part of the problem with Forth is that it isn't easy. It's subtle, frustrating and brutal at times. Part of the joy of Forth is that the solution to difficulty is simplicity. If the source code is too difficult to read, simplify (factor) it until you can read it. Using debuggers as a solution to bad source code is just adding flying buttresses to unsound buildings. And yes, I do have to deal with million line Forth applications.
