Vegas to Huntinton beach had no other state to pass through,but you drove up the coast to get to LA.That means its Utah. Natalie Sinatra while flying in a Lear 24B commuter, also not an airliner, died when the crew misinterpreted their IFR instructions and flew into a moutain adjacent to Palm Springs airport, also many miles from Mt Baldy, during climb out.
