TreBert I think you have obsessed long enough over Mt Baldy; let's try a new mountain like Mount San Jacinto. There you will find the Palm Springs Tramway, the world's largest rotating tramcar going from the Cachella Valley at 2.643 feet to near the top of Mount San Jacinto (10,834 feet) at 8,516 feet. Once there you can enjoy 4 star dining with a magnificant view of the Cachella Valley and Palm Springs in the Peaks Restaurant. If $36 for a New York steak and $10 for a salad are to pricey for you, there is the Pines Cafe where you can get Pizza and sandwiches or the Lookout Lounge for a liquid meal. As the temperature difference is typically 30 degrees F, be sure to bring a jacket, $5 for parking, and $23 for your senior discount tram ticket.
