I have a family member that has lost "very important" data three different times now.  Each time there was no backup and they "just had to get the data back".  Each time they never did get the data back.  Each time I would tell them they need to start backing up their data and how to.  They still don't back up their data.  I completely washed my hands of dealing with the issue.

So to answer your question. I have no idea.
