There is a "minimize the number of words" dogma around, and especially
in standardization some poeple put much weight in it, arguing for an
interface that's more complex to use and/or to implement because it
has fewer words than the simpler (to use and/or implement) interface.
F~ is an example where this dogma has succeeded.

That may be the case, but if two programmers disagree on aesthetics,
they should find technical arguments supporting their case or shut up.
