Wahrscheinlich hast Du recht, selbst wenn die Meßkamera wie ein
Schiffskompaß kardanisch aufgehängt ist. Vor allem brauch man dazu eine
Abweichung im Bild, also eine zweite Kamera. Denn für die
auszurichtende Hauptkamera isses ja schon zu spät, wenn die Abweichung
sichtbar wird...

So schwer ist das nicht, viele von den Laserscannern machen sowas bei
der Kamerakalibrierung (Tsai hat's erfunden).
