Why would I do that if I just want to check whether the xt is in a
specific wordlist (the sketched problem)?

Aparently different Forth systems had different meanings for
VOCABULARY (and consequently for "vocabulary"), so like for NOT, this
word and the related term could not be standardized. So another word
and its related term were introduced: WORDLIST.
