See, or you could just say that its syntax, type and context categorize
that expression an lvalue, grammatically. No need to mention objects.
It's an lvalue because it has object type, a syntactic form for an lvalue
(dereference expression) and the right context (operand of increment).
If something doesn't exist, and we talk about it, it is still a noun.
lvalue is purely a grammatic concept.
