I keep all my devices locked when not in use. If I'm away when the burglary
 happens it may be several hours before I know my stuff is gone and plenty
 of time for the perp to burglarize me a second time by going through my
 online stuff. Happened to my neighbor. And in an earlier life I took
 thousands of such reports. Stuff like that helps to build one's paranoia...

Let me rephrase.

I bought a car/phone with a trailer hitch/slot but I've never needed to use
 it in 7 years so when I replace the car/phone I'll likely be happy with one
 that doesn't have a trailer hitch/slot.

That analogy any better?
