It's hard for me to respond that "Apple devices work just fine", because I
too have Apple devices & fer' sure they can't do half of what Android does.

As far as anyone on the Apple newsgroups has ever been able to figure out
over the years, there's only a single thing iOS does that Android can't.

Worse (much worse), I can make a list of things iOS can't do that will go
on seemingly forever, where anyone who says iOS does what he needs it to do
isn't lying - but they are telling me they don't do all that much with it.

Like you, I use the sd card to offload my "data" such as the WhatsApp
videos of the grandkids, which I copy from internal storage to sd storage.

I don't remember who said sd tech was obsolete though, but, in reality,
anyone saying something that absurd clearly doesn't understand what it is.

There's a reason more than half of all current/new Android phones have it.
More importantly to your ACER point, there is a reason some don't have it.

IMHO, the only reason to remove sd functionality is to force people to be
so desperate as to feel the need to buy all the missing functionality back.
