  As to the HP BIOS issue: I have an HP laptop with a rather old BIOS
("AMI F.07, 04/07/2023" according to System Information) and the 'Secure
boot' part of 'Device security' of 'Windows Security' says I'm fine:

"<power icon with green tick-mark> Secure boot

 Secure Boot is on and all required certificate
 updates have been applied. No further
 certificate changes are needed."

  What does it say for you?

  As to "are we all gonna be screwed one morning?", see my upcoming
