Wrong.  It asks do you want to sync music to this computer.  I don't.

That shouldn't mean that I'm not allowed to make backups, and it
doesn't mean that.  I can make backups.  

But backups (as Apple says) don't include music, etc.

?  You asked for examples of how I could have music on my device that
wasn't on my computer.  I gave you four of many.
