I understand that
Priority one: What do they want?
and
Where are they from?

is what they want to know
about aliens from other planets
who...arrive here.

I thought everyone is looking for water?

Aliens from other plantes
come here and you ask...
"What do you want?"

and they say, "We're looking for water, what the fuck do you're looking for???"

and NASA tells them, "We're looking for life on other planets."

and the aliens respond, "Well, you fuckin found it, now where is your fuckin water???"

NASA seys, "Where are you from?"

Aliens: "WHAT FUCKIN BUSINESS IS IT OF YOURS, MOTHERFUCKER????"

Aliens speak old english from the 50's, they learned it by watching our
TV signals from 66 light years away.

They want to be Surfers, but they dont fit the surfboards, silly fools.

Trouble is, there's a LOT of water in the universe.

Now, you could have life (on Titan, maybe?) that isn't based on
wat4er.

But then they wouldn't need it.

It's kind of like the bit in _Triplanetary_ where the Nevians
(who have plenty of water) go exploring, looking for iron,
resorting even to draining the hemoglobin from human bodies.
There's a LOT of iron in the universe; I understand it's the
final product of a lot of nuclear reactions.

It's as silly as "Mars Needs Women."

"But now, wait just a bit, let's see, this isn't it,
for you haven't provided a maiden,
Who is both good and pure, yet with sexy allure,
and with not many clothes overladen.
She is part of the crew, and so she's captured too,
and is ogled by foes who are lustful;
There's desire in each eye, and there's good reason why,
for of beauty our girl has a bustful.
Just the same, you go fast till this section is past,
so the readers won't raise any ruction
On recalling the foe are all reptiles, and so
take no interest in human seduction."

Then you'd *NEVER* hear them saying what you just said.

Fantasize away, but make sure it's consistent.
