Nobody considers you a "threat". You're too feeble and stupid to ever be
a threat. You're just a sickly old junky with one foot in the grave.
You haven't even been outside in months.

Of course they are. No modern country can afford the economic chaos that
would result if we go back to living in a pre-industrial age... there'd
be blood in the streets. I've been trying to tell you that for years.
We adapt and move on, just like everything living on this planet has
always done. To think that we have the power to change the climate
"back" to any other condition is shear folly.

It's not sheer folly with "The Name of Jesus". You can just declare a
shield of protection and be safe and happy (like in 1960, when it was
almost hilarious).

Who is suggesting that we "go back to living in a pre-industrial age"?
Besides k0oks like John Michael Greer, that is.

We (the mainstream) are just proposing to power the industrial age off
solar and wind instead of coal and oil.

I think that's a great idea, but how will you pay for it? It has to be
economically feasible to develop the technology without creating a huge
economical burden on consumers who are currently charging their Teslas
with electricity made by older established technologies. Wind is
promising and free, but those big wind generators have a nasty habit of
catching on fire. Solar is becoming cheaper all the time, and battery
storage is improving as well. I think all of this will happen, but
certainly not overnight.

Solar?

Hmmm... and do so by burning coal to produce the panels, and use diesel to
power all the mining equipment needed for the necessary ores, and then find
they are inadequate for the job of maintaining a viable electric grid 24/7
as is necessary for this industrial age.

So to prevent pollution your solution is to create much more pollution?

Wind?

Need power and coal to produce the steel, requires diesel engines for the
mining, and are inadequate to the job of maintaining a viable electric grid
24/7 as is necessary for this industrial age.

So to prevent pollution your solution is to create much more pollution?

Oh, and what about cost?

Average residential rate is Sweden where a major segment of their power is
provided by wind and solar is around 23.7 cents per kWh, where as in the US
the average residential rate is more like 11.3 cents per KWh.

So let's more than double the cost of electricity and claim that's NOT going
to have an impact on an industrial age that depends on electricity.

Meanwhile, other countries around the planet will be free to expand their
use of fossil fuels nearly without limit......

So tell us again, how the net effect is positive?

For now but eventually these should be electric. Maybe Tesla brand. Or
we can produce fuel synthetically. The north edge of the Sahara has tons
of energy from sunlight and tons of saline water readily available from
the Mediterranean just to the north. Using the energy, some of the water
can be split to produce hydrogen and more can be desalinated to green
nearby parts of the desert. The hydrogen can be reacted with other
substances to produce easier to handle fuels, such as natural gas and
propane or even synthetic diesel.

Do you have a coherent counterargument to make here, or just froth?

How so?

I already have three, ko0kt4rd.

Iron alloyed with carbon. Carbon is ubiquitous; there are certainly
other sources than coal.

When batteries equal the energy density of a 50 gallon tank of diesel,
which right now looks like never.
