First, you cannot frame-jump, and here you are trying to frame-jump into the reference frame of every one of those zillions of muons, all at once! If you are in the reference frame of Muon A, it will see the earth approach at nearly c. This is relative motion. (ever notice what the R in SR stands for?) For another muon IN A DIFFERENT FRAME, it will see the earth approaching it at nearly c as well. This is not a contradiction as the two reference frames will be moving at high speeds relative to each other as the muons approach earth at different angles and speeds.. Now if you do look at things from Muon A's frame, it will see earth approach it at nearly c. Muon A will also see Muon B approaching earth from some angle. If measured, Muon A will see Muon B moving at some speed nearly c relative to itself, and it will see the relative velocity between B and earth at nearly c as well. No contradiction. Repeat for each of zillions of muons. > The correct description is that the muons >surrounding the earth are rushing toward to meet it From the earth reference frame. In IRT there is no material contraction the material length of a meter stick remains the same in all frames. However different observers will predict the light-path length of the same moving meter stick to be different----Why? Because each observer's prediction is dependent on his own state of absolute motion. Learn some real physics....wormy!!!! Haha. Michael comes in with another "Mathland" story. You guys. Math. Is. Not. Reality. Odd. A "tree line" is not a one-dimensional thing. Every "surface" is a TRANSITION. There are holes. There are bumps. There are discontinuities. They are not "2D".

Holes and bumps are irrelevant. Discontinuities are a different matter. Tell me, John, if I cross from France into Germany, is there a transition where I'm in both or in neither? Is there a discontinuity or hole in the boundary? Does the fact that the boundary is not a straight line make it not a boundary? How does your logic work where you can decide that some words are just nonsensical? Again, a tree line is a poor example. Your argument is kind of like claiming that there is no such thing as zero (0). If I stick a ruler into something and define measurements that are inside the something as being a negative distance and measurements outside as being positive, it would mean that zero (neither negative nor positive) would be at the boundary. But you claim that the boundary doesn't exist, probably because no matter how close one gets to 0, you are always either slightly positive (outside) or negative (inside) but never exactly zero. Does that mean that zero (0) does not exist?
