We don't need new science.  Our current energy problems could be
completely solved using BREEDER REACTORS.

Breeder reactors could supply, RIGHT NOW, all power and do so indefinitely.

Feudal times?  We are already sliding inexorably there.

But it's not because of energy shortages.  It's because of OVERPOPULATION.

The world is whimpering, but soon to be screaming, for LEBENSRAUM.
However, LEBENSRAUM is not available.

As proof, take a look at the utter scarcity of items that were once
common.  We can no supply the world with quality lumber.  Most of
of our furnishings are wood pulp (essentially plastic) and most of
our fixtures are plastic.  The iron age has been replaced by the
plastic age.  We can also forget about copper.  World supplies of
this metal are dwindling rapidly.  Most household wiring and most
electrical circuitry are now based in aluminum. (God!  Who will save
the beer cans!)

As time goes on these basic material shortages will grow much worse.
