Don't worry Double-A, it's only VIRTUAL sea rise from VIRTUAL warming. 
Using all the fossil fuels without repercussions would be tricky. The 
hope is that we can have enough time (extended using nuclear etc) to 
develop the new science that solves the problem before it's too late.

This is what makes the ASSHAT Wormley so dangerous. He wants to collect 
a bunch of money supposedly to "solve" the problem, but he doesn't 
intend to spend it developing fusion or new energy sources, but rather 
to waste it so as to drive the entire world back to feudal times. He 
wants to destroy civilization to "save" it!

By the way one can compare the "virtual sea rise" this century of 2-3 
feet with the ACTUAL projected sea rise (2-3 mm per year) which would be 
8-12 inches. I wonder if a person of Wormley's age will be able to move 
his walker fast enough to escape drowning?

Feudal times?  We are already sliding inexorably there.

But it's not because of energy shortages.  It's because of OVERPOPULATION.

The world is whimpering, but soon to be screaming, for LEBENSRAUM.
However, LEBENSRAUM is not available.

As proof, take a look at the utter scarcity of items that were once
common.  We can no supply the world with quality lumber.  Most of
of our furnishings are wood pulp (essentially plastic) and most of
our fixtures are plastic.  The iron age has been replaced by the
plastic age.  We can also forget about copper.  World supplies of
this metal are dwindling rapidly.  Most household wiring and most
electrical circuitry are now based in aluminum. (God!  Who will save
the beer cans!)

As time goes on these basic material shortages will grow much worse.

Yes, let the nuclear activiity remain safely on the Sun.  All we have to do is tap into it.  We could also be tapping into geothermal energy from the Earth.  It's free for the taking.

There has been some development here in Oregon of geothermal resources already.  It's good for a place where the Sun doesn't always shine.

The South African gold mines are very hot way underground.  It would be a place you could survive even if the Sun flickered out!

Jim They grow well in Florida.I had "crazy mushrooms' for my pizza topping. On Boldy they grow and are expensive. They are a fungus and can grow anywhere. TreBert

Mushrooms grow in dark, 80 to 95% humidity areas within a temperature
range of about 50 to 60 F.

So they will grow anywhere you can maintain those conditions.

There are no mushroom farms on Mt Baldy.
