The last update to Quick Basic was.

I doubt any QBASIC program written 20 years ago is worth running, but
if it were, does the word 'porting' mean anything to you?

I don't know who 'M$' is; is this an attempt to be funny?

That Excel is an application, not an operating system is very relevant.

As Excel is an application that costs money, it behooves the maker to
make it as widely applicable as possible to attract the widest possible
sales base.

There is zero incentive for the deliverer of an OS to include everything
that is a free download.

Because I have common sense.

Handy for who?

No one with any sense in the corporate world would use a language like
QBASIC in this day and age.

As corporations own their computers, they are well in their rights
to control them.

If you don't like that, buy your own computer.

You might also see someone about why you have problems with authority.

That is called piss poor planning on your part.

If the company were paying you to write software, they would have given
you the tools needed.

Nope, only ancient code for a language long dead.

Again, if you insist on BASIC, there are still many free BASICS available
for download.

And again, does the word 'porting' mean anything to you?

And many are not.

Utter nonsens.

One of the big reasons that old BASIC is obsolete is that it is incapable
of doing anything that is usefull in the modern world.

Why do you think the time and money was put into developing things
like the currently support version of BASIC that Microsoft offers
for free?

I don't want to what?

I use lots of code written by other people, but none of it is in BASIC.

By change I take it you mean they no longer support an obsolete and
crippled language?
