The point Ken has made deserves a new thread. It completely destroys SR. Unfortunately for Ken, he doesn't always
express his ideas as well as he might and this particular observation of his has always sounded like pure nonsense. It
took me a long time to understand what he was getting at and I'm sure the dingleberries still don't have a clue..

Surely such a gedanken can include currently impossible things like a proper event of zero duration without worrying about molecules in a real flash, Ralph? Never mind. You refuse to come up with an answer of what the velocity of the source of the flashes is. All you can do is deflect and insult, Ralph. Ralph, as we know you believe in failed DirtyBaThWater with its failed c+v, when the observers M and M' see the flashes allegedly arriving at c+v, Ralph, what is the speed of the light from the flashes as measured by M and M'? Remember, Ralph, the flashes are caused by the rods at the ends of the train striking rods on the embankment. You won't answer this, Ralph, just as I predicted, and predict again.

Poor idiot! I really feel sorry for you. The rods did not emit the flashes. I presume there was high enough voltage
between them to cause a spark as they passed. In that case, light from the flashes will have a range of speeds in all
directions and any difference between its arrival times at the two observers will be much smaller that the error bars.
> Or is all you can do is insult me, Henry?

Ralph Malcolm Rabbidge, this is a gedanken, so it can reference idealied things such as trains moving at 0.8c and ideal physics events that take no time to happen. I never mentioned high voltage or any other mechanism for the flash to take place. It is an ideal event, which takes zero time to happen, Ralph. The event is the contact of the two rods, Ralph. > In that case, light from the flashes will have a range of speeds in all >directions and any difference between its arrival times at the two >observers will be much smaller that the error bars. Did you think this out at all, Ralph? Do you realize what the combination of this statement with DirtyBaThWater would mean in this gedanken? You'll have some molecules stationary with respect to the embankment, some stationary with respect to the train and everything in between. So M will see some photons arriving from the front of the train at c, and some at c-v and every speed in between. Meanwhile, M' will see some photons arriving from the front of the train at c, and some at c+v and every speed in between, Ralph! Ralph Rabbidge, so now tell us what the observers see, according to DirtyBaThWater!

So Ralph, that means the track observer first sees a flash from the photons from the rear of the train moving toward him at c+v, then sees a flash from both ends from the photons from both ends moving at c, then a flash from the photons from the front, moving at c-v? 3 flashes? Wow, Ralph, DirtyBaThWater is more bizarre than I thought! Or if the molecules have a range of speeds, the track observer first sees light come from the rear as the c+v photons arrive, the light stays on (not a flash) while slower photons arrive and at the instant the photons moving at c arrive, the light from the rear goes out at the exact instant light from the front starts arriving (both moving at c), then light from the front only comes as slower photons arrive, then goes out once the c-v photons arrive? Not flashes but the light remains on for a length of time? Either way, truly bizarre, Ralph!

Mickey moron cannot count, either. In a real situation both observers will receive four flashes....plus a lot of noise
in between.

If 45 deg mirrors were placed at the train ends and track, both observers see four flashes... two from the train ends
and two from the track reflections.
You should grow a few more fingers so you can count past 3.

Ken already did.
Since the observers are at the midpoints of the flashes in their respective frames and SR says light is isotropic, the
flashes must arrive at both observers simultaneously.
Goodbye RoS! Goodbye SR!

You can't run away from this one, dopey. Even your god thing can't save you now.

In the first place, Ken has NEVER derived anything. This proves that you are delusional. Then perform one such experiment and publish your results, since you have a big mouth. You can't. Why, because you in a laboratory correlates highly with magic smoke.
