If anything lacked the shared velocity of the source, its speed would be calculable by the negative version of the additive velocity formula: sqrt/C^2 - V^2.  The Lorentz Factor is different from this.

Throw something in the moving police car and it shares the movement of the car and has its own.
Galilean relativity shows shared motion. Drop something while moving and it continues in that direction
as it falls...

They only seem to be because of the mathematical transformation. The same thing happens with light according to relativity.

Both light and bullets behave as if they share the velocity of the source. Light requires a mathematical transformation so perhaps bullets do as well. How can a mathematical transformation do this?

Think about this a bit. Both light and bullets are physical entities. A
mathematical transformation is completely artificial, you cannot hand
me one to examine at my kitchen table. Mathematics is a shorthand that
is used to explain physical phenomena but can do nothing to alter how
anything behaves.

Self motion is a simple fact. It is not a complication.
Sharing more than one motion also is not.

They all follow the same transformation, w=(u+v)/(1+uv/c²). When both u 
and v are very small compared to c, the difference between this and the 
"obvious" w=u+v is also very small, usually too small to be measurable.

Remember, "obvious" in physics is not only not a proof, but often very 
misleading!

The speed combo formula has an interesting property if one of the 
velocities, say u, is c relative to the object moving at v. In this case 
the formula becomes w=(c+v)/(1+cv/c²) where v is the velocity of 
something emitting light at c relative to itself and u replaced by c. It 
simplifies to w=c. This is a fancy way of showing that light moves at c 
in all inertial frames regardless of the motion of the source (which is v).

For real life experiences, both u and v are very small compared to c, so 
uv/c² is very very small, so (1+uv/c²) is almost exactly 1. The formula 
simplifies to w=(u+v)/1 or the "obvious" w=u+v.

Answer: it can't. Therefore, light shares the velocity of the source as do bullets.

Where light is on its own it has its own motion.
Motions can be shared otherwise.
Bullets have the motion of the police car
and then a motion of their own.
Just as your world line shares Earth's
motions....
