This is exactly wrong, Peter. Here again is a plot of gravity as a 
function of radius in the Earth.

In this picture, 0 on the horizontal scale is the center of the earth, 
and 1.0 is the surface of the earth. As you can see, gravity does NOT 
increase as you go to the center; it in fact decreases the closer to 0 
you get on the horizontal scale.
