The "absolute velocity of light" is a much misunderstood
teaching. Unfortunately I am not inclined to attempt to
rationalize it to anyone but I hope you'll eventually
see through the protests and actually understand it.

I will say that where all the "standards" we use to
measure can vary with a local environment one cannot
actually assert that any aspect is absolute other than
sometimes some of the numbers are considered "fixed."
