The sun emits light of almost thermal spectrum.

Now lets look at sunlight almost directly (slightly outside the solar 
'disk').

If we take out blue (because this is scattered), the remaining light is 
missing blue. That would be yellow.

If we look at rays a little further away from direct sunlight, then more 
blue should be within these rays. This is so, because the amount 
scattering is dependent on the angle.

This should generate some kind or 'rainbow-effect' (which is not observed).

So we would need some other explanation (rather than scattering) for the 
blue sky.
