Nikolas Tesla invented it long ago. Just because it isn't used for mains *now* doesn't mean he can't know what it is. Also, it's what stepper motors use, and we encounter those every day. Also, he didn't mention "mains" in that follow-up. Also, replying to pedantry with jackassery is lame. (whereas the opposite is just plain fun ;-)
