It was too wet to play. So we sat in the house All that cold, cold, wet day. I sat there with Sally. We sat there, we two. And I said, “How I wish We had something to do!” Too wet to go out And too cold to play ball. So we sat in the house. We did nothing at all. So all we could do was to Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! And we did not like it. Not one little bit. I'm from Brooklyn...there are no boring days. These books are for ...sissies. Al Capone would not read this junk..why would I?

Joyce Carol Oates, who is often mentioned as a Nobel contender, called the committee’s choice “inspired,” but suggested that the surviving Beatles might be more deserving. “Arguably, their music is as significant, or more significant, than Bob Dylan’s work,” she said in an email.

Of course the responce "the committe" would give is..."But Paul McCartney is not Jewish!" Let me tell you a little story about a 18 year old boy who wanted a career of an artist... He decided to attend the prestigious Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. In October 1907 he withdrew his inheritance money from the bank and went to live and study in Vienna. He took the two day entrance exam for the academy's school of painting. Confident and self assured, he awaited the result, quite sure he would get in. But failure struck him like a bolt of lightning. His test drawings were judged unsatisfactory and he was not admitted. He was badly shaken by this rejection. He went back to the academy to get an explanation and was told his drawings showed a lack of talent for artistic painting, notably a lack of appreciation of the human form. He was told, however, that he had some ability for the field of architecture. He applied again a year later.. he was rejected twice by the "admission committee judges" of Vienna’s Academy of Fine Arts. He later wrote a book which he wrote:, "That gentleman [the rector] assured me that the drawings I had submitted incontrovertibly showed my unfitness for painting." That book became a national best seller... Mein Kampf. And he said afterwards..."I bet they regret rejecting me now!" Don't get Paul McCartney angry. Otherwise, you're gonna get what you ask for...

Paul McCartney is probably screaming right now..."WHAT THE FUCK IS THE PROBLEM WITH THOSE FUCKING PEOPLE??" Thorbjorn Jagland, chairman of the Nobel Peace Prize 'Committee', said today that President Obama “really ought to consider” returning his Nobel Peace Prize Medal immediately, including the “really nice” case it came in. And Obama is probably saying right now..."That's it, they are asking for it. I'M GOING TO WIPE OUT THE WHOLE FUCKING 'COMMITTE'!!!" ...and the 18 year old boy says, "I told you guys, you got to kill them ALL!!!" "I was doing you guys a favor!" And Bob Dylan sez "There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke"

Either that or it's going through massive renovation. It's right there at the corner of St. Lawrence Blvd and Marie Anne. In either 1990 or 1991, the first really nice and warm day of spring, I was up walking that way, and waiting for the light, I glance into the bar, which had garage door type windows, which were open in the warm day. And there I spy Leonard Cohen. And he nods back. I realized later it had to be a defense mechanism. I might have gone over and said "Are you Leonard Cohen?" and so on, but since he noticed me noticing him, he acknowledged it and I didn't bother him. But a quarter centruy later, I still have a good story to tell. Michael

In a Los Angeles Times Interview Bob Dylan admitted to plagiarizing a great percentage of his songs including “Blowin’ In The Wind”, “The Times They Are A Changin’” “Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall” “Knockin On Heaven’s Door” and more “Well you have to understand that I’m not a melodist. My songs are either based on old Protestant hymns or Carter Family songs or variations of the blues form. What happens is, I’ll take a song and simply by CouponDropDown”>start playing it in my head. That’s the way I meditate”. “I wrote ‘Blowin’ in the Wind’ in 10 minutes, just put words to an old spiritual, probably something I learned from Carter Family records. That’s the folk music tradition – you use what has been handed down. ‘The Times They Are A-Changing’ is probably from an old Scottish folk Song.”….”I’ll be playing Bob Nolan’s ‘Tumbling Tumbleweeds,’ for instance, in my head constantly — while I’m driving a car or talking to a person or sitting around or whatever. People will think they are talking to me and I’m talking back, but I’m not. I’m listening to the song in my head. At a certain point, some of the words will change and I’ll start writing a song.”…….Bob Dylan
