Mit 'bit' ist eine minimale Informationseinheit gemeint.

Wenn man - beispielsweise - ein Münze wirft, dann soll es nur 'Kopf' 
oder 'Zahl' als Ergebnis geben können.

Dann ist ein bit die Information, was es denn nun geworden ist - aber 
nicht die Münze selber.

Informationen sind abstrakt und hängen davon ab, wie man sie interpretiert.

Man kann also ein high-bit als 'Kopf' interpretieren, als die Zahl '1', 
als Punkt auf dem Bildschirm oder als Teil eines Tones.

Das kommt immer auf den Benutzer an, denn der Computer 'weiß' überhaupt 
nichts von Tönen oder Münzen. Der kennt nur 'high' oder 'low' als 
Zustände von Registern.

Davon hat der aber jede Menge und kann diese unglaublich schnell ändern 
und verknüpfen.

Jetzt wäre die Frage, ob die Zustandsänderung derartiger Register auch 
als Erhöhung bzw. Verringerung der Entropie eines abgeschlossenen 
Systems betrachtet werden kann.

Denn wenn es bevorzugte Registerinhalte gibt, dann kann deren  Änderung 
im Prinzip auch zur Energiegewinnung genutzt werden, da die 
'Chaos-Verringerung' auch mittels Chaos-Erhöhung rückgängig gemacht 
werden kann, wobei man evtl. auch einen Energiegewinn erzielen könnte.
