In 22 years of subscribing to Usenet, I have never trolled, but
discuss those things that interest me. In so doing, I pick up a number
of abusive ignoramuses who do not understand that which I talk about,
or else blindly quote from their textbooks but without their
thinking caps on.

Your PP has long been in my KF for being gratuitously abusive, and his
interjection quoted above fully justifies that KF presence, so it would
seem.

Martin, are you, too, to become a deliberately ignorant abuser, or would you
prefer to stay and discuss a developing technical thread; even were that
thread to move in directions in which you lack experience?

It loads whatever it finds on your SD card which most certainly will not be
Linux if Linux ain't there. There won't be any Linux in what I have in mind.

Doing something that I enjoy and for which I am well qualified is not
something I'd criticise as being stuck with. Handling the blinkenlights
is an ideal opening for a Pi Zero.

Never found it to be a problem.

Little Endian is god-given. Big Endian is the work of the devil.

Switch register is also there as an I/O facility, as with the OSR bit in the
PDP8 OP instructions.

If I wanted hex input, then wouldn't need thecomplexity of screen and
keyboard; would do it via Morse (Really "Vail") Code.

Forgot to say your

Is akin to connecting the water inlets of a washing machine to the
gas mains. They operate differently and use different interfaces
and different software drivers.

Even on PDP-8's and similar they would have different interface cards
just like serial interfaces, disk drives, printers etc on any system.

I get the impression that you might, just, lack either experience or
knowledge of which end of a soldering iron to hold?

I see the guy is giving you a hard time. He really is a troll and the
best thing to do is to *totally* ignore him. Don't respond even to tell
him you are ignoring him. I don't think that is going to happen in this
group, but it would be for the best.

I'm not giving anybody a hard time and I am not trolling.

Perhaps you should refer your readers to the NG rec.radio.amateur.antenna
wherein I tried to explore antennae theory beyond what is stated in
the textbook and how you and your ilk became abusive?

It seems that being intellectually explorative is not accepted practice
amongst the lumpen proletariat of Usenet who cannot merely ignore
things that they do not understand or feel uncomfortable about discussing
and must resort to personal abusive ad hominem attacks such as you do above?

Why do you behave like that?

-----ooooo-----

Now, if you, or indeed, anyone else, does not want to discuss the exciting
(to me.
at least) the low-level operation of the 64 bit ARM architecture, then it is
probably
for the better, as you suggest above, that you ignore the threads or even KF
me rather than hijacking
the thread to vent your spleen in attacks.

I am quite happy that the deliberately ignorant and the gratuitously abusive
should ignore me.

You are "intellectually explorative" in the same sense that a small
child on a 1,000 mile car trip asking "are we there yet" every mile is
"intellectuallly explorative."

A prime example of, "the lumpen proletariat of Usenet who ... must resort to
personal
abusive ad hominem attacks", perhaps?

You have persistently trolled on uk.net.news.config and
uk.net.news.management, where you are one of the most universally
despised and hated posters. I see your ambition has increased.

I note that, as before, you resort to childish outbursts in the manner of a

Shame on you.

Strange the number of social misfits who do not join the discussion but
use it as an excuse to vent their own spleens, blaming me instead of
taking responsibility for their own behaviours as any well adjusted
adult should so do.

It is a most regrettable aspect of Usenet the number of silly billies
who use it as a vehicle for shouting abuse.

A pox on them and their families.

I am really sorry to see the infection has spread to

is to not respond to trolls. This guy has ruined a number of groups.

I fit in nicely everywhere, but it is those such as yourself who cannot
discuss withiout resorting to personal remarks who are the real problem.

In all 22 years of using Usenet, I have never been the originator of
personal
remarks, but being only human, on rare occasions I have risen
to the bait and responded indignantly as, indeed, I do here.

Splendid does that mean that you will be issuing a retraction and an
apology for you out-of-the-blue personal attack on me when you accused
me of being a murder and baby killer and then followed it up with
accusation that I was a 5th columnist and traitor in the army.

"Another warmonger aiding and abetting the murderous invasion of
Afghanistan, and thus no different to the Germans invading of Europe in
the 1930s and 1940s "

  > or indeed fighting at all?

Anybody who aids and abets the killing of Afghanis in their own country,
especially the burning to death of women and children by indiscriminate
drone attacks, has as much blood staining their hands as though they had
fired off the fatal devices.

The same goes for so-called conscientious objectors who drive ambulances
in battlefields, for they are aiding and abetting the warfare.
<https://groups.google.com/d/msg/rec.radio.amateur.misc/7pbw5EstLxY/JlArDZxMtwIJ>

You actively and willingly partake in campaigns to kill your fellow man
in lands across the sea in order to feed your family?

So much for your morals.

<https://groups.google.com/d/msg/rec.radio.amateur.misc/7pbw5EstLxY/5j_ASfNQ_84J>

Is the army aware that they have you as a fifth columnist in their ranks?
<https://groups.google.com/d/msg/rec.radio.amateur.misc/7pbw5EstLxY/T9GpTRPCniwJ>

and then this one
<https://groups.google.com/d/msg/rec.radio.amateur.misc/7pbw5EstLxY/cVuIrH3kaMEJ>

Just for the record I was never in the army but I was in the cub scouts
in the 1970 but even back then they were not a seriously militant
organisation, I cannot recall their list of battle honours but I'm
guessing that it will be quite short.

And below are the posts where Gareth actually posted evidence that I was
in the army.

<tumbleweed>

And below all the posts where he has posted evidence that I initiate
abuse against him...

<tumbleweed>

Google is your friend people.

He is a troll and his modus operandi is to make a seemingly neutral post
and then launch attacks and snide remarks at those who reply and when
they respond will be full of righteous indignation.

...and then it all ends up like this:

"Amateur radio enthusiast Gareth Evans has been given a three-year
conditional discharge after he emailed a school to say one of its
teachers was a pornographer and a danger to children.
The teacher, Brian Reay, was also a ham radio enthusiast and the two men
met over an internet forum for fans of the hobby."

"He described how he was called in to the deputy headteacher’s office
after an email allegedly entitled, “is a pornographer loose in your
school?” was sent to three high-ranking members of staff."

Serious point: by using something like Google Groups, which don't AFAIK
have filtering or killfile facilities, to read newsgroups you make trolls
lives easier because you don't have the facilities to make them invisible.

I killfiled the troll a few days ago and, according to Pan stats, thats
10-20 posts I don't see each day. Result!

I'm not aware that there have been any trolls in the Pi group recently.
