Core 2 Duo with 4 gigs RAM will run Yosemite snappily. Since I'm having a stichomythia with Lewis about the usability of 10.10 and he tends to be a terse in his explanations, perhaps you'd care to expound on your use of 10.10. You don't have the gripes with the various interface items that so many others do? The gray-on-gray and hidden interface items would seem to be a genuine PITA. I've stayed on 10.9 because those complaints are so numerous and so loud. -- Gary Bettman's worst nightmare: Montreal vs. Calgary in the Stanley Cup Finals

Seriously; I'm not being disingenuous. I've also not had the wireless problems that have been reported. The thing pops up from sleep connected. The icons seemed a bit "flat" (artistically) at first, but I got used to it. Everything seems to work the way it used to and the way it should. I haven't got the oul' Woman's take on Photos yet -- I'm leaving her machine on Mavericks and iPhoto until her current project ends in June. If she's unhappy, we'll switch to Lightroom, which is superior anyway. I have no complaints about Yosemite (except for the lack of Open Transport, but MTNW's days were already numbered). I keep my Desktop empty. I loaded Yosemite into my old Mac Pro 1,1, and it seemed faster. It just doesn't like the graphics card. Give me a list of complaints that I should have. -- Where's the Vangelis music? Pris' tongue is sticking out in in the wide shot after Batty has kissed her. Since I'm not running 10.10, I don't have direct experience. However, go to the current panel of Macintouch's Yosemite discussion <http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/yosemite/index.html#d02may2015> and search for 'hidden' (5 hits) or 'interface' (55 hits). Objections cover both the system as well as iTunes, Mail, and Photo. Of course, not all of them are complaints, but you'll get the idea of folk's dislikes. Also if you Google for 'yosemite interface ugly' you'll get about 64,000 hits. (I didn't add 'ugly' to the search spec. Google suggested it, presumably because so many people entered it.)
