I have been using both Western Digital Passport and G-Technology Drives 
for time machine backups on my current MacBook.  I haven't had problems 
with either one, but I'm not putting a lot of wear on tear on them, as 
I tend to backup everything just once or twice a day.  I'm not sure who 
makes G-Technology; I purchased that drive at the Apple Store when I 
bought my current laptop.
